Why Am Wiesenweg Chalet?

The path across the meadows (in German “Wiesenweg”), which passes very close to our chalet, used to be the church and school path for the mountain dwellers. It starts in the village centre of Gudon at our farmhouse and leads to the Figisterhof farm. Forgotten for a long time, the path was only brought back to life in 2006 by the then group leader Brigitte Messner.

Since then, it has been a popular hiking trail for us people from Gudon, as well as for our guests.

CLOSE TO YOU

The path is the destination

Silence. Tranquillity. Balance between nature and mankind. Admiring the starry night sky. Listening to the chirping of birds in the morning. Indulging in the silence of nature. Recharging our batteries. Simply feeling good – in the modern chalet in the middle of lush meadows.

Spring

The first sunbeams are like a smile, they keep the heart and the soul warm!

Summer

A refreshing touch during the hot season: the waterfall close to my chalet!

Winter

Perfect position: just half an hour to reach the skiing slopes of the Plose, Val Gardena, Alpe di Siusi or Funes Valley!

My hosts

My South Tyrolean hosts, the Kasseroler family, live just a stone’s throw away, but are always on hand. Franziska is a trained nurse and devotedly takes care of the guests on the Am Wiesenweg chalets, and at the alpine hut that she manages (and from which we get all kinds of delicious delicacies for breakfast). Her husband Karl is responsible for the livestock and looks after the dairy cows and hens on the Gschlosserhof. The family’s home farm is only half an hour away by foot (or five minutes by car) and can be visited. The children Alexandra, Peter and Lukas help diligently with the management of the alpine hut on the Plattkofelalm (malga Sassopiatto), from whose alpine dairy comes, among other things, the tasty cheese that I can try in my chalet Am Wiesenweg.

There’s no path to happiness.
Being happy is the path.
