Spring in Gudon
A truly enjoyable holiday in the Isarco Valley begins in spring – with various culinary speciality weeks. Enjoying nature in all its facets. While hiking, soaking up the sun, strolling through squares and alleys, I feel the freshness of South Tyrolean spring with all my senses.
Particularly beautiful in South Tyrolean spring is the small town of Chiusa, which already fascinated painter Albrecht Dürer and was immortalised by him artistically. In addition to shopping tours and culinary breaks, the ascent to the Sabiona monastery, the former bishop’s seat, which towers above the town, is worthwhile.
Whether in the saddle of a mountain bike or on an e-bike, the wonderful natural landscape around Gudon is best explored on two wheels! Good for the environment and my fitness, alone, as a couple or with the whole family.
The Eisacktaler Kost speciality weeks in spring are just what I’m looking for. A colourful market with all kinds of fresh products attracts visitors to Gudon and the surrounding villages, and cultural life never sleeps in the South Tyrolean spring, with various concerts by traditional and modern music groups, festivals and open-air theatre.
When nature awakens, I hardly expect to lace up my mountain boots, pack my rucksack and set off into woods and meadows to explore dizzy heights, secluded alpine pastures – and sometimes just the immediate surroundings. I certainly don’t lack for opportunities here in the heart of the Dolomites!
